2025 is all about breaking away from the “seen it everywhere” engagement ring styles such as the much loved classic 3-carat oval on a solitaire band. 2025 is about embracing fresh, eye-catching designs. This year, we’re seeing bold new settings, unique diamond cuts, and creative combinations taking centre stage. Here are the styles we believe will define 2025 and spark the next wave of trends.
1. The East-West Setting
The east-west setting has exploded in popularity this year, with more brides leaning towards distinctive, statement-making designs. Instead of sitting vertically, the diamond is set horizontally across the finger, giving a fresh, contemporary twist to classic shapes. While this style doesn’t elongate the finger, it offers an effortlessly modern, fashion-forward look perfect for those who want something unique without straying too far from tradition.
The most popular east-west shapes? Marquise, oval, pear, and emerald. And yes, even celebs are jumping on board. Zendaya was one of the first big names spotted with the style, rocking a stunning 4-carat elongated cushion set east-west.
2. The Two-Stone Ring
The two-stone design might just be the “it” ring of 2025. My personal favourite? A pear and emerald combo. I’ll definitely be dropping hints when my time comes. Two-stone rings are often said to symbolise “two souls becoming one.” They can be styled in so many ways. Most designs are seen with a twisted or curved band or a sleek bezel setting.
Model Emily Ratajkowski is the celebrity who arguably put this trend on the map. Her ring features a 2-carat princess cut and a 3-carat pear diamond side-by-side. It's nothing short of breathtaking. However, since her divorce, she’s transformed her ring into yet another “it girl” design which is right up our alley. We sometimes have newly single clients pop in to repurpose an engagement ring that’s no longer serving its original purpose, turning it into something fresh and fabulous.
Emily reimagined her pear-shaped diamond into a pinky statement ring set east west and transformed her princess-cut diamond into a trilogy design, flanked by trapezoid side stones. She now wears it proudly on her middle finger. Iconic!
3. The Trilogy (Three-Stone) Ring
If two stones are good, three can be even better. Trilogy rings have a timeless appeal but are getting a bold refresh for 2025. We’re seeing more rounds, radiants, and ovals in combinations that balance elegance with sparkle.
This style is perfect for those who can’t commit to just one diamond size. Tossing up between 2 and 3 carats? Why not have both! From statement-making sets with a 3-carat centre and 2-carat side stones (a true finger workout) to more understated yet equally stunning designs with a 2-carat centre and 0.5-carat accents.
One famous trilogy fan? Meghan Markle, whose engagement ring features three cushion-cut diamonds. Something very special about this ring is that the side stones are stones taken from Princess Diana’s collection. The estimated retail cost of this ring is said to be between $300,000 to $350,000.
And there you have it, the engagement ring trends we believe will be inspiring proposals, Pinterest boards, and maybe even your own wish list in 2025.
